EndNote Online

What is EndNote Online?


EndNote Online is a web-based reference management and bibliography-creation tool. It allows you to collect, organise and store references online, share references with other EndNote Online users, and create citations and bibliographies in Microsoft Word.




Referencing & EndNote

Before you begin using the EndNote program you need to know which referencing style your school uses and become familiar with that style. While EndNote will display references in your selected referencing style (e.g. APA, Chicago, Vancouver etc.) you need to be able to correct any mistakes or inconsistencies in your references. EndNote is not able to recognise incorrect or missing data required for your style. For more information about referencing please see:

Setting up an EndNote Online account

To begin using EndNote Online you will first need to set up an account. To do this:

  1. From the Library website select the Databases link and click on the Web of Science database
  2. Login to Web of Science using your Curtin credentials 
  3. Click on Sign In in the top toolbar and select Register from the drop down menu
  4. Follow the prompts to create a Web of Science account
  5. Once registered, click on the EndNote link in the top toolbar to access your EndNote Online library

Note: Web of Science will send you a confirmation email when setting up your account. If you do not receive it, check the junk / spam folder in your email.

If you have an existing Web of Science account:

  1. Sign In using your Web of Science account details
  2. Select EndNote in the top toolbar to access
