Create your ORCID

To create and set up your ORCID ID, follow the instructions below or refer to the ORCID set-up guide.

Step 1Register for an ORCID ID                                     

 

  • You can register for an ORCID from the ORCID registration page.                 
  • Include as much detail as possible.
  • Under Visibility Setting select Everyone to ensure your works are visible to everyone.

 

Step 2Add personal information to your ORCID record

 

Add your personal information such as:

  • Education background                                                                         
  • Employment history
  • Affiliations
  • Research publications
  • Funding
  • Personal websites (eg Twitter, Facebook, Google Scholoar)   

How to enhance your ORCID record

Follow the recommendations below to make full use of your ORCID record:

a) Keep your ORCID record up-to-date                                                                  

  • Add information on new publications
  • Update your employment and affiliation details when you move 
  • Add new grant information as you receive it

b) Add your ORCID ID to:

  • manuscript submissions
  • grant applications
  • conference/poster presentations 
  • personal identifiers and profiles
  • resume, webpage, institutional repositories and more.
