Indigenous Australian Education: Reference sources

Resources

Dictionaries and encyclopedias are often useful for gaining background information. They provide basic factual information and definitions.

To search for these resources via the library catalogue, type in the relevant keyword followed by the word encyclopedia or dictionary eg Aborigin* encyclopedia or Aborigin* dictionar*

Search for a range of atlases and directories via the library catalogue. Use the country or region name followed by the word atlas as your keywords search terms, eg Australia atlas or Coolgardie atlas.

Why use statistics?

Statistics is a scientific approach to analysing numerical data.  It helps us maximise our interpretation, understanding and use of data by turning data into information.

It is good practice to use statistics to support your argument or research query.

The following websites (below) are excellent sources of statistical data. You may also want to check out the Statistics LibGuide.
